LOCATION: MARC train parking lot (follow blue MARC signs), Route 118 (Germantown Rd.) & Bowman Mill Dr., Germantown, MD

 

VENDORS

 

COST TO SELL:   $25 in April ($30 May-Nov.) per EACH “Selling Space” (cash only) [Selling Space = two side-by-side or end-to-end parking spaces, or one parking space within lines, or a 10′ x 10′ area on the grass if all parking spaces are taken.]

Vendors MUST pay at time of collection at the start of the market 

  • NO VENDOR PARKING BEFORE 5:30 AM and NO LATER THAN 7:30 AM
  • First come, first served — no reservations, no refunds
  • Vendors are responsible for their own tables and own sale items
  • Open to all amateur and professional vendors
  • Food vendors can only sell in the back corner from the entrance (Aisle 5)
  • All items are accepted – used items, antiques, crafts, services, etc. EXCEPT: live animals, firearms, alcohol, or illegal items

Anyone selling exclusively new items must have a current Vendor License.
Anyone selling food (or water) must have a current Food Vendor License.

The Germantown Historical Society takes no responsibility for any permits required by any other authority.

VENDOR RULES

 

ARRIVAL:

  • Vendors should arrive NO SOONER than 5:30 AM, NO LATER than 7:30 AM
  • NO OVERNIGHT PARKING as per the posted Maryland Transit Authority rules
  • Vendors sharing spaces MUST arrive at the same time.                                   
  • Pay collectors ($25 per space in April; $30 May-Nov.) cash ONLY – no $100 bills.    
  • Keep receipt at vendor space at all times, on car dashboard or with person.

SETTING UP:

  • NO SAVING SPACES for self or others. Items set in spaces to “save” will be considered abandoned property and removed. 
  • Set up within the lines. Do not extend merchandise beyond end of the lines.         
  • Vehicle MUST fit within parking space, or you will pay for an additional selling space.
  • DO NOT leave a gap between you and your neighbor.
  • Vehicles NOT in paid selling space MUST exit Vendor Lot before 8:00 AM.

PARKING:                 

  • PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED SLOTS. MUST park car within your selling space or in customer parking lot across Walter Johnson Rd.
  • NO PARKING on the street or on the grass. No setting up outside the Vendor Lot.
  • DO NOT park at the 7-11 gas station, Verizon, or other private property.
  • “Accessible Parking” along street is reserved for HANDICAPPED CUSTOMERS.
  • HANDICAPPED VENDORS must park in own vendor space.                             

DEPARTURE:        

  • No vehicles are allowed to leave the Vendor Lot before 1:00 PM except in an emergency. In case of emergency, contact headquarters for an escort. 
  • No selling after 1:00 PM — violators will be required to pay double at the next Market.
  • Vendors MUST be packed up & GONE no later than 2:00 PM.
    • Violators will be required to pay double at the next Market.
  • Management is not responsible for vendors remaining after closing. Those doing so are illegally trespassing and may be ticketed by police and fined.
  • YOU MUST take away your trash & any unsold items, including broken items.
  • DO NOT leave trash or unsold items in lot or around trashcans or clothing donation drop boxes.   

By setting up to sell at this Flea Market, you are agreeing to abide by these rules. VIOLATION of rules will result in vendor being REMOVED & BANNED from future Flea Markets and/or fined. Management reserves the right to deny access or request any vendor to leave parking lot during Flea Market hours for any reason.

 

All food vendors must pre-register at germantownmdhistory@gmail.com with their:

  • Company name
  • Montgomery County food vendor license number
  • Owner name and cel phone number
  • Day-of contact name and cell phone number
  • All food vendors must ONLY park in the back corner where Aisles 5 and 6 meet (signage will be in the lot to note this)
  • No food vendors will be allowed in the lot unless they are pre-registered
